The topping-out ceremony for the Lake Cluster Complex of Xiongan Campus, China University of Geosciences, Beijing — designed by China IPPR — was successfully held on June 30. Zhao Zhidan, President of China University of Geosciences, Beijing, and Xu Haitao, General Manager of China IPPR, attended the event.

On behalf of China IPPR, Xu Haitao extended congratulations to China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and expressed gratitude to all leaders and guests who have cared for and supported the project. He stated that China IPPR has specialized in the architectural design of science, education and research buildings for decades, accumulating mature experience in master planning and design for numerous top-tier universities. The company and its project design team attach great importance to this project. China IPPR will continue to deliver overall coordination, give full play to its technical and management strengths, cooperate closely with all partners, and fully guarantee the orderly progress of construction.

Located in the ecological core of the southern campus zone, the Lake Cluster arranges teaching buildings and public activity plazas around a central ecological lake, connecting the northern and southern teaching and living zones. Composed of four L-shaped buildings for teaching, laboratory and disciplinary facilities enclosing the ecological lake, the complex draws inspiration from extended and staggered rock strata landforms, with each single building adopting a stepped terrace design. At the heart of the complex sits an elegantly shaped multi-functional auditorium resembling a pendant, which creates a harmonious interplay of solid architecture and reflective lake scenery. Serving as the core landmark of the Lake Cluster, it also stands as the most iconic building along the central axis of the entire southern campus.

The full topping-out of the main structure marks a crucial milestone in the construction of Xiongan Campus, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction phases. Topping out is not the finish line, but the starting point of a new journey. With a strong sense of responsibility and professional dedication, China IPPR will fully align with the university’s overall construction arrangements, provide comprehensive whole-process design services and technical support, closely coordinate with on-site construction teams, resolve technical issues in a timely manner, and work alongside all participating entities to contribute expertise and efforts toward delivering a high-quality landmark project.
